Community Art
Art can be a powerful vehicle for shifting awareness because it engages the viewer or participant on different levels.
Our community art workshops:
- engage the participants through head, heart and hands
- teach practical skills and encourage their creative input
- use natural or recycled materials whenever possible
- demonstrate that creativity is innately within us all
Our art installations:
- create'places' through connecting with the community they are designed for and with, creating a sense of belonging and a reason to stop and look
- Provide a vehicle for linking people with their environment through the story telling nature of their design
Four Views of the River
Four Views of the River, 2005
Location: Foyer of Payneham Library & Community Complex (Tirkandi), Turner Street, Payneham
Description: The four large mosaic panels greet the visitor as they enter the Complex, presenting a design that is readable at a cursory glance yet contains sufficient detail to reward further inspection. The inspiration for this artwork comes from an historically-based imagining of the changing patterns in the landscapes along the River Torrens.
